A quick tour of the main ideas in ConvoTool. Understanding these makes the rest of the guide easier to follow.

Organization

Your organization is the top-level container for everything — agents, team members, billing, and usage all live under it. You create one when you sign up, and you can invite teammates to it. See Organization settings.

Agent

An agent is an AI assistant you build for a specific job, like customer support or lead capture. You create agents with a step-by-step wizard — or start from a template — and tune them in Agent settings.

Knowledge base

The knowledge base is the content your agent learns from — files, websites, text, and Q&A pairs. The agent answers from this content rather than making things up. See the Knowledge Base overview.

Tools

Tools let an agent take actions — book a meeting, look up a CRM record — by connecting toolkits to your organization and enabling them per agent.

Deployment

Deploying puts your agent in front of customers. Add it to your website as a chat popup or iframe, or connect it to messaging channels like Slack, WhatsApp, Messenger, and SMS.

Playground

The Playground is a safe space to edit your agent in a draft, test it in chat, compare versions, and publish when ready — without affecting the live agent.

Conversations & outcomes

Every chat your agent has appears in the conversation inbox. When a conversation reaches a meaningful result — a lead captured, a booking made — it’s recorded as an outcome you can act on. Analytics summarize activity and trends.
