Visibility & rate limiting - ConvoTool

Before you put your agent in front of the public, set its visibility and add rate limits to keep usage predictable. Open your agent’s Settings page and select the Security tab.

Visibility

Setting	What it does
Public	Anyone who loads your website can chat with the agent. Use this for live, customer-facing agents.
Private	Only you can access the agent. Use this while you’re still building or testing.

Rate limiting

Cap how many messages a single visitor can send so a single user — or a bot — can’t run up your usage.

Setting	What it does
Max messages per session	The most messages one visitor can send in a single chat session.
Max messages per hour	The most messages one visitor can send within an hour.

Rate limits apply to your agent on your website — the embedded chat popup and iframe. They do not apply to you when you test the agent on convotool.ai.
